Orient Pilot Style – EM7A003B

This time round, I had the opportunity to handle an international market Orient. This is a fairly new model and according to Orient’s website, the model number is EM7A003B. However, the model number on the hangtag is FEM7A003B. There is the alphabet ‘F’ on in front.

Let’s take a look.

This watch can be considered a pilot style watch since it is quite big and has Arabic hour markers as well as pilot style hands.

The main features of the watch are:

• 60-click rotating bezel that rotates in anti-clockwise direction
• screw in crown
• water resistance 100m
• solid caseback
• day/date

Below are a couple of side profile shots. The watch is fitted with a flat mineral crystal.

The side of the case, lugs and bezel have brushed finishing as you can see in this picture below.

The watch is roughly 12mm thick and its diameter 43mm excluding crown.

The lug width of the watch is 22mm and this model comes with leather strap. The surface of the strap has a rubberized feel.

Note that this watch does not have quickset Day feature. You need to turn the hour hand by one rounds to get a day change. A faster method is to turn the hour hand to and fro between 12 and 3 o’clock to set the day.

Here’s a variant with full luminous dial. Model number is EM7A002R or FEM7A002R according to the hangtag.

According to Orient’s website, both black dial and luminous dial variants are available in either metal bracelet or leather strap.

Here’s a shot of the bracelet. It is quite a thick bracelet as you can see.

The luminous on this model is among the best I’ve seen in Orient watches. Pictures below do not do justice. They are as bright as chernobyl.
